USMTS to make stops in Beaver, Dodge City
The United States Modified Touring Series will continue a very busy schedule with three stops beginning on Thursday and ending on Saturday. The series was scheduled to stop in Beaver for two days, but has revised that race and will only race in Beaver on Thursday night. This race will still pay $2000 to win and will give drivers three races to attend. Promoter Earl Taylor called the USMTS office and did want to cancel the race after some family health problems have come up, but USMTS will rent the track for the one day show. The race at Beaver will be on Thursday August 12th and will pay $2000 to the winner. The series will move to the beautiful Dodge City Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday for two complete shows each paying $2000 to win. Dodge City which was asphalt a year ago has ran some very big shows this season and these races will be just as good as any races seen at the speedway this season. Several drivers will be on hand for the racing action. Series point leader Kelly Shryock from Fertile, IA, Tommy Myer Blooming Prairie, MN, Mark Noble Blooming Prairie, MN, Jason Hughes Colcord, OK, John Tesch Watertown, SD, Johnny Bone Jr., Pea Ridge, AR, Ron Schreiner Hudson, WI, Jason Krohn Slayton, MN, Mike Roach Woodward, OK, Eddie Martin Stillwell, OK, Tommy Weder Woodward, OK plus many more stopping in to face all the local favorites.
