USMTS to return to Adams County Speedway Thursday, September 16th
CORNING, Iowa -- The United States Modified Touring Series will make a return visit to the Adams County Speedway in Corning, IA on Thursday night September 16th. USMTS made its first ever appearance to the speedway back in June and Jon Tesch from Watertown, SD picked up the first visit to the speedway. Some great modified action was witnessed by all drivers and fans in the stands.
This race should see the same great racing action as several of the same drivers are expected to be on hand for the racing action at the speedway. Local standouts will be on hand challenging the USMTS travelers. Local driver Chris Spieker will be one of the locals showing his stuff against all the travelers. In June Spieker drew the number one frisbee and started the race from the pole position, but a flat tire on the first lap would send the #56 car to the pit area.
Spieker would return and work his way back to a tenth place finish. Also running will be the Hobby Stocks and Stock Cars. Gates will open at 5pm with hot laps slated for 7pm and racing to follow. USMTS is renting the track from the Adams County Fairboard and fans should be able to see some of the following drivers this Thursday night: Kelly Shryock Fertile, IA, Tommy Myer and Mark Noble Blooming Prairie, MN, Jon Tesch Watertown, SD, Al and Mike Hejna Clear Lake, Corey Dripps Cedar Falls, IA, Jason Krohn Slayton, MN, Brad McEwan Strom Lake, IA, Bruce Hanford Davenport, IA, Johnny Bone Pea Ridge, AR, Jason Hughes Colcord, OK, Tony Fraise plus many more. More than fifty cars is expected for this event.
