Myer bags three wins in three nights
BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. (April 25, 2005) -- Despite the rain that canceled both USMTS races in Memphis, Mo., Tommy Myer and crew finished the weekend with three feature wins.
The first feature win was in Lancing, MN at Chateau Speedway on Friday. Tommy started his heat race 6th and finished 2nd. The feature began with Tommy starting last, and on the last lap he passed Neal Eckhart on the high side for the win.
Tommy's comments on the win: "Well this week I wasn't just going to take second so I went for the high side and was able to make the pass".
The second feature win was at Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday night. This day was a long one for Tommy and crew. After his win in Lancing they traveled through the night for the Saturday race in Memphis, Mo. With few hours of sleep they woke up to the news that the races were canceled. So they traveled to Deer Creek in sort of a USMTS caravan. For those of you who braved the cold that night were rewarded with an awesome modified show. The USMTS drivers dominated the top 5 for the feature. Tommy started his heat race in fourth and finished in second. The redraw was a good one for Tommy with a 2nd place starting position. Tommy quickly took the lead and held his own for the win with Noble and Shryock behind in 2nd and 3rd.
Sunday wrapped up the weekend with his third win at Cresco, Iowa. Tommy started in 8th and finished 3rd. The feature race began with Tommy in sixth and he passed Kevin Pitman on the last lap for the win. Hopefully this is a sign for good things to come for 65 crew.
See ya at the races!
