Free tickets to Texas Winter Nationals await Cowtown Speedway fans Nov. 13


KENNEDALE, Texas – Friday, Nov. 13, will be a lucky day for the first 1,300 fans attending the $86,000 November Sprint Shootout (NSS) presented by City Vending at the Cowtown Speedway in Kenedale, Texas.

Each fan will receive free grandstand tickets to the 3rd Annual Texas Winter Nationals at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Dec. 3-5. The event features the final three events in the USMTS Dirthead.com Southern Series presented by Dirt Modified Magazine, and will see the crowning of the 2009 USMTS Dirthead.com Southern Series champion.

The Friday, Dec. 4, event pays $3,000 to the winner while $5,000 will go to the winner on Saturday, Dec. 5. Thursday's opening night show will pay $2,000 to the main event victor.

With the racing season wrapped up nearly everywhere by then, many of the nation’s top modified teams will be on hand to take on the wide quarter-mile dirt racing surface.

The face value of the tickets is $30, and will be free to those attending the NSS, while supplies last.

The Houston Raceway Park is a nine-year-old facility and has a main grandstand seating capacity of 7,500 which includes fourteen VIP luxury suites and boasts a state-of-the-art Musco Lighting system for TV productions.

Paul White won the first-ever USMTS Dirthead.com Southern Series event at Houston Raceway Park on Nov. 29, 2007. Since then, trips to victory lane have also been made by Alan Mondus, Kelly Shryock, Jason Hughes, Tommy Weder Jr., Johnny Bone Jr. and Zack VanderBeek. Local aces expected to compete include David Smith, Corey Neil, Kevin and Kenny Battarbee, Joe Mayhew, Ed Wickham, Brent Nicholas, Brian Spindleman, Brian Sellier and others.

The Houston Raceway Park is a state-of-the-art 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval located east of Houston on I-10 to Exit 799, then 2.5 miles south on SH 99 (Grand Parkway), then 0.3 mile west on FM 565 with the speedway entrance located at Gate 3.
