Dirt Track Racing School scholarships await lucky USMTS fans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – If you're a fan that has always wondered what it would be like to drive a racecar on dirt, USMTS officials have announced a new program that is fan-tastic.

The Dirt Track Racing School, located in Charlotte, N.C., offers a unique driving experience for fans and racers alike. Not only can students experience what it's like to drive on dirt in a professionally prepared racecar, but they can also feel the difference between driving an open-wheel Modified, Late Model and Sprint Car on dirt.

In 2010, two lucky fans will get the opportunity of a lifetime as the USMTS and Dirt Track Racing School will give away two “Hit the Dirt” Modified Certificates to two lucky fans.

The first winner will be chosen at the conclusion of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Championship at the 12th Annual Fall Jamboree at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., on Sept. 25. The other prize will be doled out at the 4th Annual Texas Winter Nationals during the USMTS Southern Series finale at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas, on Nov. 20.

“I'm looking forward to working with USMTS in 2010. The schedule looks great and I'm sure the racing will be even better,” said Dirt Track Racing School President Shawn Parker. “As we continue to grow our business, I'm hoping that our association with USMTS will spark more interest in Modified racing at our school.”

The Dirt Track Racing School concept offers both racers and fans alike the chance to drive on dirt in four different types of racecars. Students have the opportunity to drive a Legends Car, open-wheel Modified, Late Model and Sprint Car.

Each kind of racecar offers students a different driving experience, and prices vary across cars, offering value for money for different budgets. In addition to our regular classes, the Dirt Track Racing School also offers specialized programs tailored to fit the individual needs of racers, race fans and groups.

The Dirt Track Racing School operates year-round at the historic Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, N.C. The racetrack is located just 25 minutes from uptown Charlotte and 45 minutes from Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord. Private classes, group outings and corporate programs are available.

For the seventh straight year, the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour campaign will kick off with a doubleheader at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., for the 7th Annual Nebraska Spring Thaw on Friday and Saturday, March 5-6. The USMTS Southern Series season will start with some unfinished business from the 2009 season with the 3rd Annual Texas Winter Nationals at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18-20.
