Casey’s General Stores kick off ambitious JDRF campaign
Casey’s General Stores kicks off its inaugural Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) fund-raising campaign this February to help find a cure for diabetes.
Casey’s General Stores hopes to raise $150,000 for diabetes research in this campaign.
“We are proud to do our part in the search for a cure for juvenile diabetes—a disease that affects millions of America’s youth,” said Angela Wood, Casey’s General Stores Promotions Manager. “Our local communities have proven to be a generous one and we hope to show that in the fundraising efforts of our local store.”
For the next four weeks, Casey’s General Stores across the nation will ask customers to help raise money to continue juvenile diabetes research. Customers can support JDRF research by donating $1 and enjoy seeing their names on paper sneakers displayed in stores.
Casey’s General Stores has supported JDRF’s Walk to Cure Diabetes, one of the organization’s largest fundraising events, for four years.
“We are immensely appreciative of Casey’s General Stores’ participation,” said Mary Hunter, executive director for the Greater Iowa JDRF Chapter. “The enthusiastic commitment of Casey’s General Stores enables us to fund cutting-edge research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.”
With the help of Casey’s General Stores, JDRF anticipates raising over $100 million this year through 180 Walks to Cure Diabetes that will take place around the globe.
JDRF, the world’s leading nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of diabetes research, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes—a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since its inception, JDRF has provided more than $1.3 billion to diabetes research worldwide. The mission is constant—to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through continued support of research. For more information, visit the JDRF Web site at www.jdrf.org, or call 800-533-CURE.
