Running with scissors: The Internet, online magazines and social media sites
I don’t care if Al Gore invented the Internet or not, the information super highway is a good thing. Sure, like many people in my generation, I was suspicious of this beast at first. I mean, it’s a scary thing. Like the boogieman.
The internet has no set appearance but is a formless embodiment of terror in the minds of those that don’t understand the sociology of this newer technology. There is distinct problem with the internet however; anybody with a computer can post whatever they want, and that can turn the information super highway into the misinformation super highway if you are not careful.
Thankfully, most people are much smarter than the critics think. Sites that are online posting bad information are usually identified right away and enthusiasts are warned to stay away from them. Likewise, the sites that have good information are linked together by their online communities.
