Rogers named General Manager of Ark-La-Tex Speedway

Well known and respected auto racing promoter Kevin Rogers has taken on a new challenge for 2023, accepting the position of General Manager at the famed Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La.

Rogers, 44, of Rockwall, Texas, has been involved in racing for decades in a number of promotional roles, most recently as co-promoter of Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, with partner Kevin Sustaire. Rogers will no longer be part of the team at Rocket, yet it was an amicable parting for both.

“I was a little caught off guard when track owner Donnie Powers first called me,” Rogers explained. “My first response was; 'No thank you, I'm going to stay where I'm at.' Yet it was really too good of a deal not to look at a little closer. So I sat down with Kevin, and we discussed our options.

Both tracks have hosted the Summit USMTS Modifieds in the passt. While the annual Cajun Clash at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway was not held in 2022, the 12th Annual Texas Spring Nationals saw Dereck, Ramirez, Dustin Sorensen and Tyler Davis score wins at 'The Rocket".

Ramirez is the defending USMTS National Champion, Sorensen is the current series points leader and Davis sits atop the USRA Modified division in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Tentatively, the two tracks are slated to kick off the 2023 campaign for the USMTS with the 13th Annual Texas Spring Nationals returning to the Rocket Raceway Park, March 2-4, and the Cajun Clash taking place the following weekend, March 9-11, at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway.
