Big money week begins Monday for USMTS Modifieds

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The stars and cars of the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour embark on their biggest week this Monday as the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, host the first of five races over the course of six days that will hand out more than a quarter-million dollars in prize money and culminate with the crowning of the 2010 USMTS National Champion.

Monday’s showdown at the “Mahaska County Monster” will feature NASCAR superstar Kenny Wallace joining the USMTS Modifieds. It will mark the 40th start with the United States Modified Touring Series for the 47-year-old St. Louis native as he seeks to capture his first victory against the best of the best in dirt Modified racing.

Wallace will also be on hand when the series rolls into the Butler County Fairgrounds on Tuesday night for the 6th Annual Hawkeye Summer Classic presented by Schroeder Racing Products at the Highway 3 Raceway in Allison, Iowa.

Both the Oskaloosa and Allison events were rained out on Sept. 1-2 and postponed until this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 20-21.

Each event will pay $3,000 to win.

Also on tap this Monday at Oskaloosa will be the Dart Iron Man Challenge for USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars competing in their next-to-last event of the 2010 season. Carter’s Manufacturing USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks will also be on the racing card. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps begin at 7:15 and racing starts at 7:30.

Thursday’s main event will pay $3,000 to the winner, Friday’s victory will pocket $4,000 and the first driver to the checkered flag on Saturday will earn a $6,000 paycheck.

The Featherlite Fall Jamboree is the undisputed marquee event for America’s “who's who” of dirt Modified racing as they converge on the Deer Creek Speedway near the tiny rural town of Spring Valley, Minn., for a possible $13,000 or more to win over three big days with a combined total purse of more than $200,000!

Special events include the annual Golf Scramble, Karaoke Night and dozens of other activities.

Along with the high-powered USMTS Modifieds battling in finale of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Championship, the 12th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree will also feature WISSOTA Midwest Mods in action all three nights.
