Boney to compete in Chili Bowl
Corey Tucker Racing and Bryan Clauson Racing is proud to announce that dirt modified standout Dustin Boney of Tonganoxie, Kan., will be behind the wheel of the US Coachworks Esslinger-powered #39R Spike Chassis for the 2011 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
Boney drives for Wise Racing out of Lansing, Kan., and holds a lengthy list of accomplishments despite being in just his fifth season of competition.
He was victorious at both the Memorial Day Special and the Tom Wilson Memorial at Central Missouri Speedway in 2010 and claimed 15 trophies in 30 tries this season. In years past, he is the two-time champion of the Missouri State Fair and past winner of the Jayhawk Modified Classic.
Boney finished a career-best 15th in the final USMTS national points during the 2009 campaign where he secured seven top-5 finishes and a front row start at the Featherlite Fall Jamboree.
“This has been a lifelong dream of mine to compete against the best Midget drivers in the country,” said Boney. “The opportunity to race a Corey Tucker/Bryan Clauson car is the chance of a lifetime. I was sure to not let it pass me by.”
The duo was contacted by Boney’s fellow competitor and good friend, Rick Beebe, as a reputable friend and good shoe to pilot the teams fourth entry.
After watching Boney win at the Missouri State Fair Speedway in August, the Clausons gave Boney the first opportunity to occupy the highly sought after seat.
“I got the call on Monday that I had the opportunity, and immediately started making calls. Twenty-four hours later, with the help of my wife, great friends, and fans of our sport, I was able to contact Mr. Tim Clauson to accept this superb opportunity.
“Thank you to all of those who support auto racing in the Midwest, as so many of you have given me the opportunity to fulfill my racing dreams. I am forever grateful.”
