About Fayette County Speedway: The Fayette County Speedway is one of the oldest, continuously running racetracks in Iowa. In 1947, the present grandstand was completed. The present pit area took the place of the backstrectch for the half-mile oval. In 1964, the half-mile was reshaped to a quarter-mile, and in 1991, promoter Jerry Blue built the 3/8 mile track that is raced on today. A majority of the improvements that are seen at the track today, including the two crow’s nests and the backstretch fence, are still there.

Today, the track is operated by the Fayette County Ag Society Race Committee. Their goal is to provide the best racing show possible with 50/50 ticket proceeds going back into faciltiy improvements including new women restrooms, updating of the concession stand and the new grandstand walkway. Amentities include an area for tents and campers (with hookups) grandstand seating with a play area, pit concessions, racing fuel for sale and pits located outside of the track.

USMTS rules apply. All drivers draw for qualifying starting spot prior to the drivers meeting. Qualifying will be done via group qualifying, heat race passing points and B-Mains. Typically, the top 12 in heat race passing points advance to the A-Main. The top 8 will redraw for starting positions 1-8. The remainder line up heads up by points with an additional 12 or more advancing from the B-Main(s). RACEceivers and AMB transponders are mandatory and available for rent.
