Dripps, Jorgenson split; Dripps to rebuild 2004 team

WATERLOO, Iowa -- Corey Dripps Racing (CDR) and Rob Jorgenson Racing have ended their racing relationship. This has forced CDR to make some quick moves to stay on the track.

“I felt it was in the best interest not only for me, but for the companies that support Corey Dripps Racing,” stated driver Corey Dripps. “It was just time to part ways. It will be tough the next couple of weeks as we regroup, but we’ve had some great people really step up.”

The quick dissolving of the partnership has left CDR without any motors or cars, but Dripps will still be making laps.

“Once the word spread through our USMTS family, the phone stated ringing,” explained Dripps. “The support has been unreal.”

With Dripps sitting third in the O'Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series points, it is vital that the “31” continues to race. Hejna Brothers Racing will provide Dripps with their back-up car for the next few weeks. Corey worked with Mike and Al putting a motor in for this week’s racing.

Some familiar names will return to the race team. Rick Dripps, Corey’s father, will return as team manager. Dick Boyer will again build the team’s engines. R.A. Benson Motorsports will rejoin the effort as CDR’s parts supplier. Pat Fagen, owner of Axel Exchange, is also coming back providing gears and the famous Fast Shafts drive shafts.

The lists of sponsors who have also agreed to stay on with CDR include: GWT Transportation, Pollution Control Systems, Yeager Machine, RaceRPM.com, An Elegant Affair by Amy, Beebe Painting, Long Cattle Company, and Real Racing Wheels.

CDR would like to welcome a new sponsor, Mejina Loading Services. We will have a few new sponsorship opportunities available soon. You can contact Corey Dripps Racing now for more information.

“I’m really excited, “stated Corey. “With all my old sponsors back and putting my 2004 car back on the track. It was bad fast at the end of last years. I can’t thank my loyal fans enough for their support to date. All I can say is that we WILL be back up front and creating some excitement once again.”
