Grant Junghans USMTS Rookie of the Year gets $5,000 in 2018



The next Grant Junghans USMTS Rookie of the Year will earn a record $5,000 at the conclusion of the 2018 campaign.

R.C. Whitwell of Tucson, Ariz., was the most recent rookie champ, and he will be honored at the USMTS awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Ameristar Casino-Hotel.

Eligible drivers must have a USMTS license, may have participated in no more than 24 USMTS events prior to 2018 and may not have won a USMTS-sanctioned “A” Main during a prior year.

Rookie points shall be awarded based on the driver's best 24 points efforts during the year and includes all points races in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup (national) and Summit USMTS Southern Series.
