USRA Stock Cars join USMTS Modifieds at ten events

The ultra-competitive and exciting USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars will be teaming up with the undisputed heavyweight champion of Modified racing this season to create the ultimate feast for the action-hungry dirt racing fan, officials from the United States Racing Association announced today.

The “Dart Iron Man Challenge” for the full-fendered American-made USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars will accompany the popular mud-slinging Modifieds of the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour at ten premier events during the 2010 season.

“The Stock Car division has some very talented drivers and produces some of the best side-by-side racing you will see anywhere,” said Todd Staley, who oversees both the USRA and USMTS. “This series has been launched to bring together the best of the best in the class and showcase their talents, plus give our fans even more bang for their buck at ten USMTS events.”

All Dart Iron Man Challenge races will be run in conjunction with USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour events at various venues throughout Iowa, Southern Minnesota and Northern Missouri. Passing points will be used to determine main event qualifiers and USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car rules will apply.

Made possible by support from Dart Machinery and Allstar Performance, the financial rewards will be as stout as the competition. With 21 or more entries in the pit area, each race will pay $600 to win and $125 to start the main event. The ten-race points fund will carry a $1,000 top prize with the tenth-place finisher earning $100.

A USRA license is not required to compete in Dart Iron Man Challenge events, but USRA-licensed drivers will also earn national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series. Only USRA-licensed drivers will be eligible for Dart Iron Man Challenge points funds.

Dart will award a $75 certificate to the winner of each event and a $50 certificate to the ninth-place finisher.

The inaugural Dart Iron Man Challenge race will be held at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Wednesday, May 26. A complete schedule of events will be announced by the end of April.
