USMTS Announces Complete 2026 National Schedule

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (February 18, 2026)44 Events Across 10 States Highlight Crown Jewels, Inaugural Events, and Record Payouts

The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) has officially announced its complete 2026 national schedule, featuring 44 events across 10 states. The schedule includes multiple crown jewel events, historic venues, inaugural races, and one of the largest point funds in dirt modified racing, highlighted by $50,000 to the USMTS National Champion and more than $230,000 paid to top point finishers.

March: Season Opener and First Crown Jewel

The 2026 USMTS season begins with the 11th Annual Winternationals at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, March 6–7. The season-opening weekend will feature a pair of $5,000-to-win USMTS Modified Main Events, giving teams an immediate opportunity to start the championship chase on strong footing. An open practice session will be held Thursday night from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, allowing teams additional track time before competition begins.

Later in March, the series heads north for the XV Annual King of America Race at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, March 26–28. Recognized as the first crown jewel event of the 2026 season, the King of America will pay $3,000 to win on Thursday and Friday, leading into a massive $15,000-to-win Saturday night finale, with $1,500 paid to start the Main Event. USRA Iron Man Stock Cars and USRA Iron Man B-Mods will also be in competition throughout the weekend, making it one of the marquee early-season events on the schedule.

April: Inaugural Events and the Inaugural Jon Fuller Memorial

April opens with a historic expansion of the USMTS footprint as the series makes inaugural visits to two Mississippi facilities. On Friday, April 10, USMTS will compete at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for the Inaugural USMTS event at the facility, featuring a $5,000-to-win Modified Main Event. The following night, Saturday, the tour moves to the all-new Mitchell’s Motorplex for another Inaugural USMTS event, once again paying $5,000 to win. While USMTS has competed in Mississippi previously, these races mark the first-ever appearances at both tracks.

Later in the month, USMTS returns to Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Missouri, for one of the most meaningful events on the 2026 calendar. On Friday and Saturday, April 23–24, the speedway will host the Inaugural Jon Fuller Memorial Race. This event honors Jon Fuller, a longtime supporter of USMTS and a close friend of series owners Todd and Janet Staley. The event carries additional significance as Todd and Janet Staley previously operated Scotland County Speedway on a weekly basis, helping build the modified racing foundation and fan base that still exists today. The weekend will feature USMTS Modifieds racing for $5,000 to win each night, along with USRA Iron Man Stock Cars and USRA Iron Man B-Mods, creating a powerful, three-division tribute weekend.

May: Texas Finale, Crown Jewels, and Memorial Day Weekend Grind

May begins with the 13th Annual Topless Amarillo Ambush at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, on May 1–2. Fans will once again see the tops removed from the Modifieds as drivers compete in a pair of $5,000-to-win Main Events. This weekend marks the final USMTS appearance in Texas for the 2026 season.

The series then travels to Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma, for the 2nd Annual Red, White & Blue Nationals, held May 7–9. The event will feature $3,000-to-win Main Events on Thursday and Friday, leading into a $10,000-to-win Saturday night finale. The 3/8-mile speedway has quickly earned a reputation for producing some of the best USMTS Modified racing in the country and continues to establish itself as a crown jewel-level event.

Following a short break, USMTS launches into one of the most demanding stretches of the season with four consecutive nights of racing over Memorial Day Weekend.

The holiday weekend begins on Thursday, May 21, with the 12th Annual War in West Union at Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa, paying $3,000 to win.

On Friday, May 22, the tour moves to Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, for the 2nd Annual Hobo 100K Nickel Nationals, paying $5,000 to win. The event is notable for its massive car counts, as last year drew over 160 cars across four classes, including 51 USMTS Modifieds. Iron Man Stock Cars, Iron Man B-Mods, and USRA Hobby Stocks will also be on the card.

Saturday night, May 23, brings the series to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, for the 22nd Annual Southern Minnesota Challenge, paying $5,000 to win. Deer Creek Speedway has hosted more USMTS events than any other track and consistently delivers top-tier racing.

June wraps up with the Super Modified Challenge at Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, on June 26–27. The event will feature USMTS Modifieds versus UMP Modifieds, with $5,000 to win each night, bringing together two major modified rule sets for a unique and highly anticipated showdown.
