Founded in 1973, Featherlite Trailers revolutionized the trailer industry by pioneering the first all-aluminum gooseneck trailer. Originally established in Oklahoma, the company later found deep roots in the Midwest, with Minnesota serving as home for several years during its growth.

Featherlite’s connection to Iowa dates back to the 1970s when one of its early dealerships was located in Cresco. That relationship led to Featherlite beginning trailer manufacturing in Cresco in 1979. In addition, Featherlite will award a $500 bonus to the driver who records the most Top-3 finishes throughout the 2026 USMTS season.
