Dripps to drive for Jorgenson in 2005
WATERLOO, Iowa -- Corey Dripps has agreed to drive for Rob and Becky Jorgenson of Des Moines, IA in 2005. The new alliance will field three "Big Cock Chassis" modifieds with a goal winning of the 2005 United States Modified Touring Championship.
"This is a great opportunity for me," driver Corey Dripps said. "Rob and Becky run a first class operation. We'll have the best equipment when the car hits the track."
Dripps teamed up with the Jorgenson's for a handful of races towards the end of the 2004 racing season. There was a natural chemistry right out of the box, and there was also a common goal to win a championship.
Construction of the new three Big Cock Chassis modifieds has already begun. Several of Corey's 2004 sponsors have already agreed to the new deal. The Corey Dripps Racing Pit Crew are also excited about the upcoming season.
"Everyone supports this opportunity," explained Dripps. "A lot of the guys on our 2004 team will continue to help in 2005. With the race schedule we are looking at for 2005, we are going to need everyone's help."
Dripps went on to explain that Corey Dripps Racing will still run some laps together in 2005. Looking at the projected 2005 USMTS schedule, there are quite a few open dates that will allow CDR to run in their backyard.
"This will be a great chance to give back to fans," stated Dripps. "With the open dates, we can do a little 'R&D' and see some race fans that have followed us since the beginning."
At this time, the team hopes to head south in February and then start the chase for the USMTS title in March.
Race fans will still be able to follow the season with Corey and the "31" at www.CoreyDripps.com.
