Four for dough this week for USMTS

Four huge events are on the calendar for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt this week, July 18-21, with $16,000 available for the taking if one talented racer can sweep the quadrupleheader.

All four races are in the Collins Brothers Towing USMTS North Region presented by Featherlite and will leave a huge impact on the regional points.

Jim Chisholm leads national points leader Jake Timm and defending series champ Rodney Sanders in the fight for the $10,000 regional title

The party gets started Thursday with the 10th Annual USMTS Summer Spectacular powered by Bettin Trucking at the famed Fairmont Raceway half-mile in Fairmont, Minnesota, for their eleventh visit here.

The $3,000-to-win event will see the USMTS Modifieds joined by USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners competing for track, regional and national points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

The USMTS Modifieds last circled the ornery oval in 2016 with Jason Hughes picking up his second win at the track. Other series mainstays fans can expect to see include Dan Ebert, Tanner Mullens, Terry Phillips, Alex Williamson, Jake O'Neil, Kyle Brown, Gary Christian, Tyler Davis, Gabe Hodges, A.J. Hoff, Jacob Hobscheidt and Steve Lavasseur.

Cole Anderson leads the track's USRA Modified points over Lyle Sathoff, Roger Nielsen, Dustin Wiederhoeft and Josh Ruby. Other racers expected are Brandon Davis, J.T. Wasmund, Ryan Wetzstein, Don Gerritsen Jr., Lee Beemer, Travis DeBoer, Duke Erickson and more.

The Fairmont Raceway is located 1.0 mile south of I-90 (exit 99) on CR 39 (at the Martin County Fairgrounds) to 1300 N Bixby Rd, Fairmont, MN 56031.

Short trip to Mason City triple: Drivers drive east on I-90 to I-35, and then south to the electrifying Pritchard Family Auto Stores Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, for the 11th Annual USMTS North Iowa Nationals presented by Kabrick Distributing.

The three day event will see Non-Wing Sprint Cars and School Buses on Friday and Saturday with KCS 2-Man Cruisers the first night and Outlaw 2-Man Cruisers on night two with USMTS drivers chasing $5,000 to win each night.

The USMTS Modifieds share the spotlight with USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Mini-Mods on Sunday while going after $3,000 to win n the Jerry Hejna Memorial.

Ryan Ruter, Mike Steensma, Kelly Shryock and Jason Hughes all got wins here when the former big half-mile was called I-35 Speedway. None of them have won a USMTS race in Mason City since then.

Topping the career USMTS wins list is Tanner Mullens, who nabbed his fourth career feature at the North Iowa Action Track in last year's $25,000-to-win USMTS 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee.

Terry Phillips and Jim Chisholm each have a pair of victories here while Rodney Sanders, Lucas Schott, Jake Timm and Gary Christian have one apiece.

The Pritchard Family Auto Stores Mason City Motor Speedway is a 1/3-mile high-banked clay oval located 5.1 miles east of I-35 at exit 194 on SR 122 (at the North Iowa Fairgrounds).
