Texas Grit Kicks Off the Toughest Season in Dirt Modified Racing
Everything’s bigger in Texas—and that includes the challenge.
Next week, the green flag drops on the toughest, most competitive season in dirt modified racing as the Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt opens the 2026 campaign at Kennedale Speedway Park.
This isn’t a warm-up. This is where the real work starts.
Kennedale Speedway Park has built a reputation as a no-nonsense Texas bullring where grit, throttle control, and nerve separate contenders from pretenders. The nation’s best modified drivers roll in knowing there are no easy laps, no freebies, and no place to hide.
From the first hot lap to the final checkered flag, every inch of clay will be fought over as teams begin the long, punishing road toward a USMTS National Championship. Early momentum matters. Texas pride matters more.
If you want smooth sailing, you’re in the wrong state.
If you want hard racing, bent sheet metal, and drivers digging deep- Texas is where it starts.
Don’t miss a lap of hard racing action with several hard charging southern drivers and USMTS regulars battling it out on the ¼ mile bullring.
Practice kicks off Thursday night from 6-8:30pm and racing action Friday & Saturday March 6-7 with $5,000 marked for the winner each night.
